OOH or DOOH: printed billboard or LED display — which to choose?

OOH (out-of-home) covers the classic printed formats — billboards, megaboards, city light showcases. DOOH (digital out-of-home) means LED displays where ads rotate in a loop. Both reach people on the move, but they work differently — and are chosen for different goals.
Strengths of the printed billboard (OOH)
- Present 24/7 — your message is the only one on the surface, non-stop, with no other advertisers competing for attention.
- Large formats — the sheer size of a megaboard or wallscape simply cannot be ignored.
- Great for branding — constant multi-week presence builds brand recognition.
- Simple billing — priced in two-week blocks, with poster installation included.
Strengths of the LED display (DOOH)
- Moving content — animation or video catches the eye far more strongly than a static image.
- No printing costs — content is deployed digitally, and mid-campaign changes are included in the packages.
- Fast start — a campaign can go live within days; the minimum booking is just 7 days.
- Flexible budget — the Start / Medium / Premium packages set the number of plays per day, so you scale the campaign to your means.
How to choose based on your campaign goal
Building long-term brand recognition? Printed formats are the natural choice: a large surface and constant presence work for you for weeks. Promoting a sale, an event or an opening? LED is faster and more flexible: video content, a start within days and the option to change the message mid-campaign. Launching something big? The strongest play is the combination: a megaboard for impact, the LED network for frequency and city-wide reach.
A note from practice: OOH and DOOH are booked as separate campaigns because they have different periods and billing — printed campaigns start every other Wednesday in two-week blocks, while LED can start any day and is billed per day. Nothing stops you from running both in parallel.
See both and compare
Instead of requesting quotes separately for printed surfaces and the LED network, our platform puts both on one map. In the price list, a filter switches between OOH and DOOH and you instantly see locations with prices — so you can compare what gives you more for your budget. For a shortcut, campaign creation walks you through a few steps (goal, cities, budget) to a ready-made proposal.
